Project Coordinator

Throughout its 75-year history, the University of Denvers Graduate School of Social Work has administered countless externally funded projects targeting children and families. These efforts preceded and provided the impetus for our establishment in 1994. Now, officially called the Erna and Brad Butler Institute for Families, we are nationally recognized for our leadership and collaborative work at the national, state and local level in evaluation, research, technical assistance, education, and training.

We bring together researchers, practitioners, public and private service system experts and community members to:

  • Engage in program evaluation and research
  • Examine outcomes
  • Provide technical assistance and training to administrators, practitioners, families, and community leaders.
  • Working in collaborative partnership with leaders, policy makers and legislators, we address issues facing children, youth and families and strive to improve the quality of public human services programs across the United States.

General Description:

The Project Coordinator will provide fiscal and administrative support to Project Directors and be responsible for the following:

  • General Administration; Provide administrative support to Butler leadership. This includes note taking, filing, faxing, photocopying, scheduling and making travel arrangements.
  • Contract and grants administration
  • Proposal and grant writing support
  • Events Coordination

We are looking for candidate’s with the following skills:

  • Accounting and contract management
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel) software
  • Ability to work with federal and state grants management offices, develop knowledge of federal and state reporting requirements
  • Ability to work closely with Office of Sponsored Programs both pre and post award on proper expenditures, reporting, invoicing, and cost share analysis and documentation
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Requires analytical and problem solving skills, independent judgment, collaboration and initiative to accomplish goals

Required Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years experience in office administration with an emphasis on accounting

Preferred Experience and Education:

  • BA in Business or Accounting
  • Experience with event planning, office management, and working with federal or other governmental offices/agencies

Marketing & Branding Internship

General Description:
This position will assist to  enhance new and existing marketing and branding initiatives for the Butler Institute for Families through research, development and design, implementation, and support of detailed and thorough marketing strategies and campaigns.

This work will be carried out in various ways, including working independently, one-on-one with staff, and through a team approach. Throughout this internship, this position’s goal will be to develop a complete understanding of the marketing process, goals and standards of the Institute and the industry it serves, through a lens of best practice.

Specific duties:

Research:
This position will assist with researching branding/marketing approaches, demonstrating a thorough understanding of current Institute’s marketing audience, processes, goals, and standards, as well as current marketing environment, opportunities, advantages, disadvantages, and feasibility requirements.

Development & Design:
This position will assist with developing and designing implementation strategies for chosen marketing/branding initiatives.

Implementation:
This position will assist with implementing identified marketing and branding endeavors.

Support:
This position will assist with current and ongoing marketing and branding approaches.

All the above activities may consist of producing reports, charts, graphics, presentations, timelines, schedules, task-breakdowns, and updating content for various printed materials, websites, social media platforms, etc.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or another related field
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills. 
  • Possess creativity, flexibility, variety, and growth potential. 
  • Should be open-minded, a fast learner, enthusiastic, and adaptable. 

Time commitment: Negotiable, but most likely 8 – 16 hours per week
