Working With Sexually Abused Children in Foster Care

Class Description:

Concerned about providing care for children who have been sexually abused? If your answer is yes, then you should come to this day and a half training. The training is delivered by a trainer and a couple who fostered child sexual abuse survivors. Training will focus on identifying normal child sexual behavior, managing behaviors of child victims, and developing the skills to parent sexual abuse survivors.

 

Target Audience:

Foster parents, kinship care providers, adoptive parents, and interested child welfare professionals.

Care givers will be given preference over child welfare professionals when registering.

 

Competencies:
  • Identify physical and behavioral indicators of sexual abuse.
  • Identify specific needs of children in care who have been victims of sexual abuse.
  • Identify foster parents' role as part of the treatment team for children who have been sexually abused.

FREE for all Colorado County Foster Parents/Kinship Care Providers, and Colorado County Caseworkers.

$25.00 if you are with a Private Agency or an Adoptive Parent.
