Class Description:
This half day workshop introduces child welfare professionals to the challenges families face when a child in need of care has an incarcerated parent. Training participants learn about the impact of incarceration, the barriers that prevent families from maintaining healthy connections, and the strategies and best practices that contribute to positive outcomes for families. This training is part of a three-course training series, which focuses on Building Health Relationships. The other two trainings are: Healthy Relationships for Youth in Foster Care and Working with Families Experiencing Domestic Violence.
Target Audience:
Caseworkers and community service providers.
