Class Description:

This newly revised one-day training, adapted from “Informed Supervision and Therapeutic Care” developed by Gail Ryan, Jerry Yager, Mike Slobicinski, and Jeffrey Metzner, focuses on the application of the new Colorado state standards with regards to informed supervision.

 

Target Audience:

Multi-disciplinary teams operating under the new Colorado Sex Offender Management Board standards for juveniles who have committed sexual offenses.

 

Competencies:
  • Understand the rationale for, and responsibilities of the Informed Supervisor.
  • Define the types of abusive behaviors juveniles may enact and recognizr these behaviors in daily functioning.
  • Understand the dynamic patterns (cycle) associated with abusive behaviors and recognize such patterns in daily functioning.
  • Design, implement, and monitor safety plans.
  • Understand interventions necessary to interrupt high risk patterns.
