Class Description:
This two day training series designed to promote the skills necessary to enhance safety, permanency and child well being in Hispanic Families. Participants will learn about issues around immigration, working with translators, and developing the skills of cross-cultural service provision. This training has a strong Child Welfare emphasis but information can be applied for other professionals in the Domestic Violence, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Education and Court Systems working with Hispanic families as well. This training also meets criteria for foster parent certification hours.
Target Audience:
This training is for Human Service Workers, Community Advocates, Court Representatives, Teachers, Medical/ Mental Health Professionals, Foster Parents and anyone else working with Hispanic/Latino families.
